Our aim at Larks Hill is to provide every pupil with the necessary skills for life and high quality learning experiences that are both challenging and rewarding. When our children leave this school, they should be caring, self-disciplined, independent learners who are committed to their learning and the development of an increasing responsibility to themselves and as a member of the community.
All staff at Larks Hill work together to promote a caring, friendly and safe community within a stimulating and secure environment in order to develop those spiritual, moral, cultural and social values that are so important to our children’s future.
High self-esteem, mutual respect, understanding, tolerance and good manners are just some examples of such values. We encourage our pupils to achieve success by realising their talents and full potential in a climate where achievements are recognised and celebrated and where contributions are both valued and shared with others. We promote individuality in both learning and teaching while realising the need for a consistent, co-operative whole school approach. We aim to ensure that this consistency is reflected in both our policies and practice.
Our school philosophy is TEAM – Together Everyone Achieves More. We believe that educational growth is best achieved through close communication within school and between home and school where improvement is achieved through partnership.
Education does not stand still and at Larks Hill we are always willing to take into account new developments in order to provide the best and most up-to-date resources for our pupils’ learning.
Larks Hill is proud of its long standing reputation in the community and wishes to develop high expectations of all its pupils, achieve a positive attitude to work and to encourage independent learning through the improvement of of our educational facilities over the coming years.
It is our hope, that by working together, we will make life at Larks Hill a happy and successful time for all learners.
Positive behaviour is consistently reinforced. The school teaches around the philosophy of the 6 Rs which are Responsible, Reasoning, Resilient, Resourceful, Respect and Reflective. This philosophy intends to improve learning through attitudes and dispositions through a focus on the six areas of learning behaviour. Children are provided with consistent positive encouragement and recognition when they demonstrate positive behaviour.
