On Friday 26th February Roots To Food were in school running healthy eating and nutrition workshops for the whole school. The aim of the day was to show the journey from how food is grown to how it ends up on your plate.
In the morning KS2 participated in a ready steady cook style competition between teams lead by Mrs Mitchell and Mr McIntyre. Some children were then selected to taste the dishes created by the teams and vote for a winner. Mrs Mitchell and the orange team won with a dish of pan fried chicken in a tomato pesto sauce, served with steamed pasta and wilted greens.
The dishes were popular with the staff and children alike so we have made the recipes available for you to try at home!
